To help support local traders affected by the COVID pandemic and to make town centres safe Carmarthenshire Council has annouced it is making some changes to 3 town cetres in Carmarthenshire (Carmarthen, Ammanford and Llanelli). One of the town centres where visitors and residents will see changes is Carmarthen town itself.
So what are the changes that are happening?
In Blue street, on street parking bays are being moved to allow increased pedestrian space, but new on-street parking bays including disabled parking bays will be made avaibale along the highway on Lammas Street.
The pedestration of areas of Carmarthen town centre including Queen Street. King Street, Notts Square and side street which means no access for vehicles from 10am-4pm daily
a number of one way pedestrain routes are also being introdued to help social distancing including along Jacksons Lane. the alleyways connecting Spilman Street with King Street and around the depot on Blue Street
The changes come into effect from Monday August 3rd 2020.
Also free parking in all council run car parks throughout August to help support local businesses and traders
