A rural bus service that has been described as a lifeline to its users is celebrating its 10th year in business.
The Bwcabus service operates six days a week in the Teifi Valley within north Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, and across the county of Pembrokeshire, allowing its users to pre-book journeys or use fixed services to link into TrawsCymru and other local bus services.
Users of the Bwcabus service have otherwise little access to the public transport network and - they say - it helps them maintain jobs, see their doctor , and socialise with friends.
The service was launched in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion on August 24, 2009, the ‘demand responsive’ service is led by Carmarthenshire Council, on behalf of a cross-county partnership.
Such was the success of the Bwcabus service in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion that it extended into Pembrokeshire in 2017 to further benefit rural communities.
