Did you know that there are hundreds of familes in Carmarthenshire in desperate need of help this Christmas
The Christmas toy box appeal was founded in 2011 by Carmarthenshire County Council in partnership with the Carmarthenshire Family Information Service and CAVS (Carmarthenshire Assocation of Voluntary Services). It is a local initiative which provides Christmas presents for families in need. Many families at this time of year can't afford to buy gifts, food or toys for their children, and will go to loan sharks in desperation. This is where the annual Toy box appeal comes in.
In 2017, residents of Carmarthenshire donated over 3,000 gifts which were given out to hundreds of families in need of help at Christmas time.
This year during these economic times, the appeal once again relies on peoples support more than ever. The appeal are looking forward and anticipate your help once again this year.
What kind of gifts we are looking for?
We are looking at gifts for all ages; babies from 18 months up to teenagers. The organisers would appreciate if you do not wrap your donated gifts as they will be allocated by a team of volunteers who work alongside the families.
Please feel free to donate gift wrap, scissors and sellotape for the volunteers.
Please donate your gift by 1st December
There are collection points all around Carmarthenshire including Burns Pet Nurtition in Kidwelly. For more information about the appeal and where you can drop off any donations just go to the following website http://fis.carmarthenshire.gov.wales/christmas-toy-box-appeal/
