The Kidwelly Community Hub is this year supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal by selling poppy merchandise ranging from poppies to car poppies. We also have a collection box where you can drop in a few pounds if you like. There is a suggested donation of £2.00 for the poppies and a suggested donation of £5.00 for the car poppy. All proceeds from all sales of poppy merchandise go towards the vital work that the Royal British Legion does for the armed forces around the UK. Please help us raise as much money as possible for the Royal British Legion by buying a poppy or drop in a pound or two in our collection box.
The Hub is also supporting the appeal in another way by having a window display of knitted poppies, and a group of willing volunteers who spent a weekend decorating the town of Kidwelly with hundreds of handmade poppies.
Remember the armed forces this year by wearing a poppy or taking part in the two minute silence on 11th November 2019. This year is extra poignant as it will be 75 years since the D Day landings and 80 years since the start of the second world war so wearing a poppy this year is more important as we remember all our war heroes who served in both world wars and more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
