Ty Golau

Ty Golau (House of Light in English) is a Kidwelly and Llanelli based health and well being group for people who have memory problems , Alzheimer’s/dementia type illnesses, and their carers and professionals.

The aim of each session is to provide specialist care with interesting and stimulating activities for the service user. The Ty Golau group consists of people living individually or with carers within the community and also residents from local care homes.

Some of the activites that Ty Golau provide are

  • .Reality orientation,  (time place, person)

  • reminiscence

  • Themed quizzes

  • music and movement,

  • Sing-a longs

  • Simple cookery

  • Indoor gardening ( and much more).

Ty Golau also give support and advice to carers who look after people with dementia, Alzheimers and memory problems

They meet once weekly at one venue and twice weekly at another venue.

Ty Golau welcome people who have any kind of memory problem and their carers.  Our oldest service user is 94 and the youngest 46.  People who live within the Carmarthenshire area but people come from further afield.
