Xcel Project Carmarthen

Around Wales and Carmarthenshire there are lots of community run social enterprises which has been set up to offer a service or run a facility for the local area. One community run social enterprise in Carmarthenshire is The Xcel Project based in Johnstown.

The Xcel project was set up by Carmarthen based Towy Community Church as a social enterprise and charity initiative to benefit the local area.

One of the things that the Xcel project run is Xcel Bowl and cafe in Johnstown

Xcel bowl is the first charity run bowling alley in Wales.All the profits go back into the community. As well as a bowling alley, it has an onsite coffee shop, play area for children. The Xcel project also run a charity shop, furniture recycling and a food bank. Xcel bowl is a great place to go as it is open all year round, regardless of the weather
